Happy Autumn! And a video for you!

The last few months have flown by! We had a busy summer, with family, fun, work and music filling our days. It was wonderful to see so many friends and fans at our shows. The highlight for us was probably performing at McMinnville’s Concerts on the Plaza.  (Check out a video of “The Ride”… and thanks to Phil Guzzo for filming us that night!)

We’ve just recently returned from several days at a folk music conference in Seattle, and we’re inspired to move forward with our music. Our plan is to take the next few months off from performing so that we can write some new songs, and do some more recording. We’re looking forward to seeing you at shows in 2018!

Local Roots, Rescheduled

Wow, this has been a crazy winter already here in Oregon… I’m writing this with snow still visible out my window, and rain falling heavily on the roof!

Because of the unexpectedly large snow event last week, the Local Roots live show was postponed.  We do have a new date though – mark your calendars for Wednesday April 12th!

We’ve added a couple of new shows to our calendar… in addition to playing at Troon in Carlton on Feb 11, we’ll also be there Memorial Day weekend (May 27th).  We’ll also be back at the McMinnville Farmers’ Market on August 17th.  We’re continuing to book more shows for the year, so keep checking our shows page for the latest additions!   And mark your calendars now to join us at Troon Tasting Room on Saturday February 11th!

Shows and cds!

Wow… it’s been about 6 weeks since we released our debut EP Possibility, and we have been very busy! We’ve played a lot of shows, including several showcases at the FAR-West conference in Bellevue, WA, and we already have some dates booked for 2017!  In addition, we’re getting low enough on copies of our new CD that we’ll be producing more in the new year!

If you’re on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, or other online music services, please look us up, give us a review or consider making a playlist based on our music… every little bit helps get our music out there to a wider audience!

We have some exciting news about a local project we’re working on… stay tuned for an announcement coming in a few weeks, or join our mailing list to get all of our news first.

And if you’d like to come say hi in person, we’ll be playing in Carlton at Troon Tasting Room this coming Saturday (Thanksgiving weekend in wine country!) from 2-4pm, and then next month at Eagle’s Nest Artisan Studio in McMinnville on 12/17 (your one chance to hear us sing some holiday tunes), and closing out the year back at Studio 154 /Independence Grill in Independence. (See our shows page for more details.)  Hope to see you at a show!

xo,

Val and Jamie

(You can hear the title song right now on our Bandcamp page: https://luminousheart.bandcamp.com/releases)

We want to send out a big thank you again to our fundraiser supporters… you made Possibility possible! We emailed out download codes for the album this week, so if you’re a backer and didn’t receive the newsletter with your code, please let us know.

Our EP Release party will be Friday September 30th from 6:30-8:30 at Willamette Valley Vineyards tasting room in downtown McMinnville. There’s no cover fee, and we’ll play for you and provide some light snacks, as well as having the EP available for sale. We’ll also leave some time to just sip and chat! (The tasting room will have wine for sale by the glass or bottle.) Please come on down and show your support for live, local music!

And thanks again to all our friends, family and fans. Whether you backed our fundraiser, or have given us words or hugs of encouragement, or attended our shows, you’ve all helped us bring our dream to life, and we are so grateful. We are heading up to Seattle next month to share our music and vision with a wider audience, and we’ll do so knowing that we have your love and support!

Our new EP is nearly completed!

Wow, the time has really flown by this summer! We are so grateful to everyone who supported our fundraiser earlier this year, and we are very happy to announce that we are in the final stages of production!

We ended up recording 6 songs at Pyrate Llama Recording Studio, and the songs were mastered today up in Seattle at Resonant Mastering.  This means that we’ll be getting the final audio files within a few days.

The EP (entitled Possibility) will be an all digital release, and will be available on Amazon, iTunes, and other platforms.  Backers will receive details about downloading the album once we have it online (most likely via Bandcamp.com).  Then the official release date will probably be ~October 1st.

Also, we’ll be announcing the CD Release party date shortly (most likely at a venue in downtown McMinnville), and we are looking forward to sharing the evening with our friends, family and fans!

xo to all…

Val and Jamie
